Knowledge, Intelligence and Evidence are an award-winning team, responsible for providing accessible and high-quality data, analysis and evidence-based insight to drive decision-making.
Our aim is to improve health and to reduce health inequalities using data and intelligence. We work with many different teams across the council and externally, using data and intelligence to improve our understanding of local populations.
We never experience the same day twice! One day we might work on developing Power BI dashboards or calculating the size of the population affected by certain health conditions. Another website ort write code, create specialist maps, produce content for our Healthy Suffolk website, or create infographics and share our work through presentations and reports.
The role of the team:
- To understand patterns and causes of ill-health in Suffolk residents.
- To analyse and interpret complex data and intelligence.
- To turn this data and intelligence into insight that can influence decision-making, and make a positive impact for all Suffolk residents.
The Knowledge, Intelligence and Evidence service comprises of Analysts, Researchers, Mapping Specialists, and Epidemiologists (public health specialists who investigate patterns and causes of disease). It’s really important that we have a range of skills and experience, so not all of our analyst and researcher roles have previous public health experience.
