Trading Standards

The Trading Standards service ensures that we take a fair and inclusive approach towards maintaining standards in trade. The Trading Standards service is dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable members of the community, whilst also ensuring that legitimate businesses are able to thrive in a fair and level playing-field.

One of the unique aspects of Suffolk's Trading Standards service is that it hosts the Imports Team, who deal with checks on the safety of consumer goods imported through the Port of Felixstowe (on behalf of the Office for Product Safety and Standards), as well as the National Trading Standards Intelligence Team and also the region’s trading standards intelligence unit.
